Playing family games with your family is a good way to spend quality time as well as have fun. There are many family games and every game makes for a different mood.

10.  Carrom

Carrom (also known as Karrom) is a strike and pocket table game.  In this game minimum 2 and maximum 4 players can play. It is quite similar to Billiards and Table Shuffleboard. The goal of the game is to use a striker disk with a flick of the finger to move the lighter object disks into the pockets, which is on every corner of the board. There are four corner pockets. The aim of this game is to pocket 9 lighter object disks and the queen before your competitor. The game is very popular throughout South Asia mostly in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and gaining popularity in Europe and United States where it has been introduced by the Indian Diasporas.  9. Monopoly

Monopoly is a board game originated from America and originally published by Parker Brothers. Players move around the game board buying and trading properties, developing properties with houses and hotels, and collecting rent from their opponents, the goal is to prove your competitor Bankrupt. In some versions 2 to 6 players can play and in other 2 to 8 players can play or you can play in couples.  The game consists of forty spaces containing 28 properties, 3 chance spaces, 3 commodity chest spaces, a luxury tax space, an income tax space, and the four corner squares. It is famous all over the world and come under one of the favorite games among families. Every age group love to play it but a child should be more than 8 years at least to understand this game.

 8. Chinese Checkers

Chinese Checkers is a strategic board game in which minimum 2 and maximum 6 players can play or one can play in with partners too. This game board is of hexagon shape in which one has to race to make all the marble go across the hexagon shaped board “Home” – the corner of the star opposite one’s starting corner, using step moves or jumping over other pieces. Don’t go on name, this game is not originated from china. The origin of this game is discovered from Germany under the name “Stern- Halma”. The name Chinese checker is originated from United States. The rules are very simple to understand so every age group people love to play it.

 7. UNO

UNO is an American card game which is played with specially printed deck. These card look like normal cards but the way of playing them is totally different. The most important strategy used in this game is- saving important cards for later, knowing when to put them down and conceal your hand. The game is originally developed in 1971 by Merle Robbins. Merle came up with the idea and introduced this game to his family when his family players loved the idea and started playing it than he made it a local business and sold it. The deck contains 112 cards, in which there are 26 of each color (red, green, yellow and blue).

 6. Chess

Chess is a strategy board game popular in all over the world. It is played worldwide in homes, parks, schools, clubs and online etc.  It is so popular game that many international tournaments take place in all over the world and invites the champions to play. It is played on chessboard with 64 squares arranged in eight by eight grids. The colors of squares are alternate and are referred to as light and dark squares.  Each player has 16 pieces in which there are: – one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops and eight pawns. Each piece has different moves. The pieces are used to attack the opponent territory with an objective of ‘Checkmate’ the opponent king by placing an inescapable threat of capture. The course of game is divided into three phases: opening, middle game and endgame.

Quiz Games are one of the best options to play with family as it will get you in full competitive mood and will extend the fun to extreme. Quiz game is a mind sport in which people need to answer the questions which is asked. Players hardly matters in this game. You can play individually as well as with partners. Quiz games can be played for current affairs, business quiz, sport quiz, history quiz and Hollywood/bollywood quiz etc. The topic of quiz games could be chosen according to player’s interest.  Quiz game not only increase the fun but also increases the knowledge. Quiz games are played everywhere and in every occasion only the types of question varies. It will be great fun to play a quiz game with family to spend a good quality time.

 4. Treasure Hunt

Treasure Hunt is a game in which one or more players try to find hidden articles, locations or places by using a series of hints. Treasure hunt game is a game in which you will not only hunt for treasure you will get happiness and quality time with your family along with it. Treasure hunt may be an indoor or outdoor activity. Children love to play treasure hunt game as it is a game in which children play as a team not individually which increases their fun. Treasure hunt hints can be solving of riddles or puzzles according to player’s intelligence level.

 3. Card Games

There are several types of card games available for people to play and have fun accordingly. Examples of card games are: – Go boom, Spoons, I doubt it, Go fish and crazy fights etc. Every game has its own rules and number of players also varies accordingly. It will be great fun to play card games with family. And if you are not comfortable with real rules, you can make your own and start the fun at your door.

Scrabble is also a word game and very famous across the globe. It not only increases the fun but also the knowledge about words. It is a good medium to make children learn spelling in game. In this game two to four players can play by placing tiles, each bearing a single letter on game board which is divided into 15×15 grid of squares. The tiles must form a form and the word should be in standard dictionary. The game is sold in 121 countries and in 29 languages. The name Scrabble is a trademark of Hasbro, Inc in United States and Canada. Every year many tournaments also take place like World Scrabble Championship, UK open and etc. This game is totally fun with family and good source to increase vocabulary.

 1. Bingo(Housie)

Bingo is a game of probability in which the players mark off the numbers printed on tickets or cards as the numbers are drawn randomly by a caller, the winner would be the person who will get all numbers marked on his/her card and after that the person have to say “Bingo” aloud so that everyone can hear otherwise there would be no use. The Bingo has become so famous across UK that halls were opened purposely to play this game. This game is originated from Italy in the 1500s and migrated to France, Greece, Great Britain and other parts of Europe in the 1700s. Minimum There should be 3 players maximum there is no limit as many players would be their fun will also be increased
